Card company dealt new hand
Founding directors and shareholders, Jake Locke and Dr Bart Wuurman, of Wizcard Ltd, the London based new media cd
card producer, are pleased to announce that the entire share capital of the company has been sold for an
undisclosed sum to Stuart Tilley, a private investor, who will also take charge of Wizcard's business operations
with immediate effect.
Tilley brings to Wizcard over twenty years' experience in the IT industry most notably in analysis, marketing and
sales.
Locke and Wuurman formed Wizcard in 2000 when the cd card was a new phenomenon and, under their direction, the
company gained valuable blue chip clients across various industries and quickly established itself as an
innovative, quality-focused company with a reputation for project management, reliability and outstanding
customer service.
Further value was added by way of an exclusive partnership agreement with Nascent Form offering 3D spherical
content navigation and a unique digital experience for the cd medium. Using this model of 'enhanced' wizcards,
relationships and proposals were developed with Warner Bros (US) and Hasbro (UK) for the production of consumer
collectable cd cards with episodic gaming.
As well as the fresh ideas Tilley intends to introduce to the company, he is confident that he will be able to
build further commercial success on the foundations that the Wizcard team has been working on over the past
four years.
Dr Wuurman is CEO at De Novo Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge, one of the world's most advanced in-silico drug discovery
companies using novel technologies to identify 'lead molecules' for the creation of new drugs. Locke takes on the
role of Head of Publishing and Communications at SATRA Technology Centre, a research and testing not-for-profit
company established in 1919 and now with 1,500 member companies in 70 countries.
